U.S. Surgeon General Regina M. Benjamin was inducted as the 2011 National Honorary Member at the National Council Meeting. As the U.S. Surgeon General, Dr. Benjamin is on the frontline of public health policy in action; her work exemplifies this breadth in public health. Dr. Lesley Russell, the Senior Public Health Advisor in the Office of the Surgeon General, accepted the honor on Dr. Benjamin's behalf, and delivered the meeting's keynote address.
