While the Delta Omega National Office acts as a supporting arm for the society, the decision-making and governance is handled by the Executive Committee of Delta Omega and the National Council. The Executive Committee has four elected officers: President, President-elect, Immediate-Past President, and member-at-large, which each serve two year terms in their respective positions. The Executive Committee is responsible for selecting winners of the society-sponored competitions, reporting on financial and committee activities, and helping chapters with any questions or concerns they may have.
The National Council, which is composed of each chapter's elected officers and representatives, meets to discuss and review the year's new and old business at our Annual Meeting. During the time, the council votes on matters such as suggested changes to the by-laws, proposals for new initiatives, and other issues that would impact the society. If an important vote is needed prior to the next annual meeting, then the Executive Committee may request the National Council vote electronically via email.
