Sir William Wilson Jameson

Sir William Wilson Jameson was inducted into Delta Omega as an honorary member for his work as a public health doctor and administrator in England. The title of a 1970 book by Neville Goodman about Jameson sums up his contributions to the field: Wilson Jameson: Architect of national health.

Jameson was the medical officer of health at Finchley and deputy minister of health at St. Marylebone. He wrote with F.T. Marchant the first edition of Synopsis of Hygiene in 1920. This book was used as a standard public health textbook for over 50 years. In 1966, it went into a 12th edition printing.

Later in his career, Wilson became the Dean of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
